The Sensory Space By MEC Disabilities was created in 2023 by MEC Disabilities a national nonprofit based in Grants Pass, OR. As a group of parents we wanted to create a safe and engaging indoor sensory play area for children of different abilities in our local area. So, we decided to create a FREE space in our Southern Oregon Community. Where every family is welcome, kids are free to be kids, and all the parents/families/guardians are supposed to do is spend time and have fun with the children. We offer a variety of sensory activities for children of all ages and abilities.
At The Sensory Space By MEC Disabilities, we believe that play is essential for children's physical, emotional, and social development. We strive to create an environment that fosters creativity, curiosity, and confidence. Most children with special needs do not have the opportunity to play and be themselves amongst other peers, at The Sensory Space every child has the equal opportunity to learn, grow, and play.
Seeing children who normally don't engage with other children, play and have has been incredible to witness.
